Migration, Relegion, and End Times
Travelling and traversing has been man's favourite thing to do, whether it's neccesary or for fun! A change of scenery really does help. I last wrote 5 days ago. It's been a while! But hey, here i am!
Moving from a place to the other is travel. You may also call it 'movement'... We do it everyday. Be it from one room to another, or as far as your workplace, which is called 'Commuting'. Our species of humans travelled vast distances to gather food, and shelter. They inhabited continents, which says alot about developments in sea transport. Domestication of horses arose. Transport got faster. Humans travelled quickly and efficiently. Trade got easier. Their were migrations. People went and arrived. Movement of people also sped up a rather 'alien' process; the spread of relegion. And with relegion came dynasties, and empires. The Greeks believed in mutiple gods, and godesses. The Romans were mainly Christians, the Persians were faithful to Ahura Mazda, the god of Zoroastrianism. Thier was the Ottoman Empire with Islam, and the British Empire with Christianity. Today, there are thousands of relegions, with many that don't have much following. The Big Three, are Christianity, Hinduism, and Islam, with a bonus one being Judaism. There's small ones like Rastafari, which is more of a relegious cult than a relegion. There is Shinto, which is popular in Japan, focusing around the divinty of spirits, that exist either in material things, or living beings, even humans! There is also Druze, a relegion originating (according to Wikipedia) from a part of Islam, but strangely, it's people do not identify themselves as muslims. It focuses on one god, rebirth, and an eventual meeting with the Al-aql al-kuli, translating to, 'cosmic mind'.
Most relegions point to the end. The end, of the world.
In view of the Bible, Christ will reappear, and lead the Christians against the non-christians. God's men will win, and Jesus will rule the people, till a thousand years, after which Satan will gather Gog and Magog, and there will be one last fight. Gog and Magog will be defeated through God's intervention.
Islam has a slightly different but similar view, with a Last Battle, the Gog-Magog, and victory.
Buddhism and Hinduism do not have ideas of End of the World. They say the world will keep on existing, with its inhabitants dying and born again.
Whatever the case, the idea is equally horrific. Who would want this world to end?
